This is a coffee table book about travelling in Europe that I created as a student at Humber College.
I aimed to design something clean and modern, with ample white space, eye-catching images as the main focus, and a minimalist font and colour palette.
When selecting the colour palette for the book, I opted for a minimal palette with earthy tones, including blues, greens, oranges, as well as black and white. I used these colors as a guide, starting with a Table of Contents featuring a map of Europe, color-coded by region. I used these regions in the headers throughout the book to help readers orient themselves as they "travel" through the pages.
As for the font, I chose Playfair Display, a delicate and elegant serif font. Within the book, the pages feature images as the main focus, with a smaller, fully justified section of text on the left page, allowing readers to appreciate the beauty of the image and read a little about the capital city.
Overall, this project is one of my favourites I have done in the Editorial space due to its minimalist design and captivating images.
